Harris says US has no intention of sending combat troops to Israel or Gaza

Vice President Kamala Harris said in an interview that the US has “absolutely no intention” of sending American combat troops into Israel or Gaza amid fears over a wider regional conflict.

Vice President Kamala Harris said that the United States has no plans to send combat troops to Israel or Gaza. She made this statement during an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes." The U.S. government is concerned about the possibility of a larger conflict in the region.

Harris emphasized that the U.S. supports Israel's right to defend itself. However, she also stressed the importance of protecting Palestinian civilians. She said that the rules of war must be followed, and humanitarian aid must reach the people in need.

President Joe Biden has been discussing the need for increased humanitarian aid to Gaza with world leaders. He spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to stress the importance of aid and protecting civilian lives.

The conflict in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of many Palestinian civilians and has worsened the humanitarian crisis. Aid has been slow to arrive, and many people, including Americans, are unable to leave Gaza. The area is under a blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt.

Amid concerns about the conflict spreading beyond Gaza, Harris also repeated warnings to Iran not to get involved. She made it clear that the U.S. does not want Iran to become involved in the situation.

In another part of the interview, Harris dismissed questions about the possibility of President Biden not being able to serve until Election Day and who might replace him. She stated that she is focused on her job and does not have time for speculations, as President Biden is running for re-election, and democracy is a priority.
