The Israeli military claims to have found tunnels or military equipment at Al-Shifa, Rantisi, and Al-Quds hospitals. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said they had indications that hostages might be held at Al-Shifa, making it one reason for entering the hospital.

Israel is conducting a "targeted operation" in Al-Shifa, searching the building one at a time. They reported finding the body of a woman hostage nearby. Despite ongoing negotiations for hostages' release, there is little news about their fate.
