Trump is ‘single most dangerous threat’ to the US, warns Republican Liz Cheney

Moderate, whose opposition to former president had cost her a congressional seat, considers a 2024 presidential run

Donald Trump is a big problem for the United States, says Liz Cheney, a Republican who doesn't support him. She used to be a congresswoman, but she lost her job because she stood up against Trump. She thinks he's the most dangerous threat to the country, especially if he tries to become president again in 2024.

Cheney says if Trump becomes president, he'll do all the things he tried to do before but couldn't because people stopped him. She believes there won't be any limits, and everyone should be worried.

Right now, Trump is dealing with over 90 criminal charges related to the 2020 election, keeping government secrets, and paying hush money to a woman called Stormy Daniels. He's also facing lawsuits about his business and a serious claim of rape.

Even though many people don't like him, Trump is leading in the polls to be the Republican nominee in the 2024 presidential election.

Cheney was part of a committee that looked into the attack on the Capitol by Trump's supporters on January 6, 2021. They suggested the Department of Justice should charge Trump for his role in it. But Cheney lost her job in Congress after Trump supported someone else in her party to run against her.

Now, Cheney is thinking about running for president in 2024. She also said it's not a surprise that Republicans are having a hard time picking a new leader in Congress because many of them supported Trump's false claims about the 2020 election.

Cheney thinks it's a shame and embarrassing for her party. She believes it's time for people who care about the Constitution to come together and prevent Trump from getting anywhere near the White House again.
