Suzanne Somers, Three's Company and Step by Step Actress, Dead at 76
Suzanne Somers, who you might remember from TV shows like Three's Company and Step by Step, has passed away. She was almost 77 years old.
She died at her home in the early morning on October 15th. Suzanne had been battling a tough kind of breast cancer for more than 23 years. She was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family. They had planned to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th, but now they'll celebrate her amazing life instead and thank her many fans.
Suzanne spent her final moments in a beautiful house that she had dreamed of. She always had plans and was very active in her work, even involving her family, including her grandchildren and step-children.
Her family will have a private burial this week and a memorial in November.
Before her birthday, Suzanne told PEOPLE that she was excited to spend it with her loved ones, including her husband Alan, their three children, Leslie, Stephen, and Bruce, Bruce's wife Caroline, and their six grandchildren.
In an interview, Alan, who married Suzanne in 1977, praised her strength and determination. Suzanne had just completed six weeks of intense physical therapy in the Midwest.
In July, Suzanne shared on Instagram that her breast cancer had come back for the first time since she was first diagnosed in 2000. She said she was fighting it with the best treatments available and her determination.
She also expressed her gratitude for the support of her husband and family, saying they've been incredibly helpful.
In addition to her famous roles on Three's Company and Step by Step, Suzanne was also known for writing over 25 books and running a health and beauty business with products like the ThighMaster exercise equipment.
Suzanne is survived by her husband Alan, her son Bruce, her stepchildren Stephen and Leslie, and her six grandchildren.
